I was born in South Africa, and Beyond Borders was built from a simple belief: good travel depends on knowing what deserves your time, who to trust and when the obvious choice is not the right one.

There is no value in giving a client twenty beautiful options and leaving them to work out the difference. My job is to know the difference.
Africa travel is full of exceptional places. It is also full of places that look exceptional online.
I built Beyond Borders to bring judgement to that choice. We look beyond the photograph, the award and the familiar name to understand how a journey will actually feel.
I inspect properties, meet the people behind them and ask the questions that matter once a guest is actually there.
When I have not experienced something first-hand, I say so. Recommendations are then built from trusted local relationships, client feedback and destination knowledge.
Trust is stronger when the answer is specific.
The most expensive hotel is not automatically the best hotel. The longest itinerary is not automatically the richest journey.
How you like to travel, how much privacy you need, what you notice and what you would rather skip all matter more than a generic list of “best” places.
Good travel should feel effortless to the person taking it. The complexity belongs behind the scenes.
